Best Glock to Bullpup Conversion Kit- An HONEST Outlaw Review

In the world of firearm accessories, innovation knows no bounds. Today, we’re going to dive into an exciting product that caught our attention: the Meta Tactical Chassis System for Glock pistols.

In a recent YouTube video, firearms enthusiast and reviewer Chris, also known as Honest Outlaw, shared his thoughts on the Meta Tactical Pistol To Rifle Carbine Conversion Kit. This unique kit allows users to transform their Glock pistols into a bullpup-style rifle, offering added ergonomics and versatility.

We were intrigued by the potential of this conversion kit for home defense purposes and decided to put it to the test. Let’s delve into Honest Outlaw’s review to discover the pros and cons of this intriguing system; it’s features, performance, and overall impression of the conversion kit, providing valuable insights for gun enthusiasts and potential buyers.

Unveiling the Meta Tactical Chassis System:

From the moment Honest Outlaw unveiled the Meta Tactical Chassis System, it became evident that this was not just another run-of-the-mill conversion kit. Priced at $500, this chassis system offers an ultra-lightweight build and a remarkable bullpup design that immediately caught the eye. Honest Outlaw, a seasoned reviewer, known for his critical analysis, was genuinely impressed by the concept and decided to put it through its paces.

“What’s up, guys? This is Chris, and today we’ve got something weird for you. Today, we’re going to be going over the Glock Bullpup. If you didn’t know that was a thing, welcome to the rest of the world. I didn’t know either, but here it is. This is actually the Meta Tactical Chassis System for Glock pistols, and this is pretty cool.”

Honest Outlaw begins by introducing the Meta Tactical Chassis System, highlighting its innovative design and modularity. He expresses his enthusiasm for the product, having seen it on the Military Arms Channel, and deciding to test it for himself. He emphasizes that even though Meta Tactical provided the kit, his review will be unbiased and honest.

“I’m a big fan of this. I have done a few chassis systems on the channel prior to this, and then I saw this guy on Tim’s channel, the Military Arms channel, and I was like, “Wow, I want that.” So we went out and we got it. We actually talked to Meta Tactical, and they sent this over for us. Although, as you guys know, that will not guarantee a positive review. They know that as well.”

“Basically, what this thing is, is a $500 Ultra Light chassis system that allows you to make a Glock Bullpup. And a Bullpup is essentially a rifle with the action in the rear. In this case, this rifle has a Glock in its rear. In most cases, that would be painful, but in this case, it’s going to be pretty fun.”

Enhanced Ergonomics and Home Defense Potential:

One of the standout features of the Meta Tactical Chassis System is its remarkable ergonomics. The bullpup design allows for improved stability and control, providing a significant advantage for home defense scenarios. With a shoulder-fired configuration, shooters can achieve better aim and accuracy, especially in high-stress situations. The increased points of contact with the firearm offer enhanced stability and control, making it easier for users to handle the weapon effectively.

“First pro, you’re going to get more velocity. Second pro, it’s gonna look cool. Third pro, you’re going to get more ergonomics. I mean, a pistol can be difficult to shoot depending on the situation, and a shoulder-fired weapon is always going to be a little easier. The more points of contact, the better. In which case, up close, this was very fast, it was very useful. So the reality is, if you’re going to use this for home defense, I think it’s reliable enough.”

Additionally, the 16-inch barrel included in the conversion kit provides several advantages. Firstly, it increases the velocity and energy of the 9mm cartridge, resulting in better expansion and terminal performance. In a home defense scenario, where every shot matters, this added energy can make a difference. Secondly, the longer barrel improves accuracy potential, enabling shooters to engage targets effectively at various distances. While it’s important to note that handguns are generally not known for exceptional accuracy, the Meta Tactical Chassis System provides a stable platform that allows most shooters to achieve better results.

“The 16-inch barrel and the actual Bullpup ergonomics are actually pretty good. This reminds me a great deal of a 9mm Tavor. It even kind of looks like a 9mm Tavor, which is pretty sweet. Now, unlike a 9mm Tavor, you get a Glock and throw it in your $500 chassis, and for a thousand bucks, you have a cool-looking Bullpup.”

Conversion Process and Ergonomics:

The reviewer explains that the kit features a 16-inch barrel and bullpup ergonomics, resembling the popular 9mm Tavor rifle. The conversion involves inserting the barrel into the Glock, which then fits into the chassis. Honest Outlaw notes that the process is not as quick or compact as some other kits on the market, but the added benefits make up for it. He highlights the improved ergonomics, allowing for a two-handed grip and better aiming, particularly for users who struggle with handgun shooting.

“Now, it’s actually a little more modular and, in my opinion, a little more useful than a lot of the other ones I’ve used, kind of at the expense of compactness. So this is not going to be the most compact chassis, and it’s not going to be the fastest either. Some of them you can put into action really quick. This one, you’re going to have to kind of keep converted if you want to use it. But it does come with a lot of benefits.”

Key Features and Customization:

The Meta Tactical kit offers several noteworthy features. Honest Outlaw showcases the storage space for an extra magazine and the inclusion of multiple Picatinny rails and M-lock slots for accessory attachments. He also mentions the ambidextrous magazine release, adjustable length of pull, and comfortable butt pad. The reviewer appreciates these features, particularly the adjustable length of pull, as it accommodates users with different body sizes.

“Now, a couple of cool things I like about it right off the bat is that you can store an extra mag here, which is pretty cool. It comes with a whole bunch of Picatinny rails, so you can put them wherever you want. But there are also M-lock slots available if you want to embrace the 21st century. We have the magazine that sits at the bottom, and then we have an ambidextrous mag release. “

“So if you want to swap your Glock magazine release to the other side, you can do that and run it over here if you’re left-handed, like my wife, or “wrong-handed.” And one of the coolest things is that it actually has an adjustable length of pull.”

“For a big, tall guy like myself, that is pretty cool because a lot of them are actually too small for me. This one, not only is pretty sturdy, but it fits me really well. The butt pad is slick, and it doesn’t get caught in your shirt at all when you’re shouldering the gun. It feels really, really good when you’re using it, unlike a lot of the old brace systems and stuff that you used to have to deal with.”

Reliability and Performance:

During the review, Honest Outlaw experienced reliable performance without any malfunctions directly related to the chassis system. The compatibility with Glock handguns ensures the reliability and familiarity that Glock owners are accustomed to. It’s worth mentioning that the review was conducted using Blazer Brass ammunition, a trusted and widely available brand. While further testing with different ammunition types could provide valuable insights, the overall reliability demonstrated by the Meta Tactical Chassis System instills confidence in its performance for home defense purposes.

“All right, so yeah, I would say this is zero to fifty. I would say at 100 yards, I feel like our group size is just too big to hit a man-sized target effectively.”

Final Thoughts:

The Meta Tactical Pistol to Rifle Conversion Kit offers an exciting and innovative solution for Glock owners seeking enhanced home defense capabilities. Its bullpup design, improved ergonomics, and extended barrel length provide distinct advantages for close-quarters engagements.

While its accuracy potential may not match dedicated rifles, the system exceeds expectations within its intended range of zero to 50 yards, making it ideal for home defense scenarios.
