How to change your beavertail lock FOR AN M&P 2.0 APEX Kit
The system to secure the firearm in the chassis relies on the beavertail/backstrap area of your gun. For this reason, you MUST use the “M” Medium size backstrap with your APEX kit. The marking can be found in the following locations:
META Tactical supports 4 different barrel sizes of the M&P 2.0 series: 3.6”, 4”, 4.25” (also the 4.6” threaded barrel), and the 5”. Below is a list of which beavertail inserts to use for what frame and barrel you have.
Use the “sub-compact” beavertail for 3.6” barrels + subcompact frame
Use the “compact” beavertail for 3.6”,4”& 4.6” (threaded) barrels + compact frame
Use the “full” beavertail for 4.25”,4.6” (threaded) & 5” barrels + full-size frame
Remove the existing Beavertail and Carrier by pulling it straight out of the slot of the rear door. Change the Beavertail by inserting the desired beavertail into the front of the carrier. Simply re-insert into the rear door slot and bolt back in.
