Apex Carbine Conversion Kit for Glock 20 (Gen 3-4 & SF) FAQ

What is the META-Tactical APEX-Series Carbine Conversion Kit (CCK)?

The META TACTICAL APEX-Series Carbine Conversion Kit is the world’s first pistol-to-rifle bullpup style conversion kit.

Currently, we will offer kits that are compatible with Glock, S&W, and P80. This includes most make, models, and generations. Calibers to include 9mm, 10mm, .40, and .45. Future kits will be available for SIG Sauer and Springfield. If you don’t see your gun when ordering, please reach out to info@metatactical.com and we can either confirm compatibility, anticipated manufacture timeline or provide more information.

Most handguns will require a specific chassis and 16” barrel engineered for that model, make, etc.

The kit includes the chassis and 16” drop-in replaement barrel.

The MX1 is equipped with integrated M-LOK slots positioned around the entire chassis allowing you to customize your setup with accessories such as optics, foregrips, lights, and more.

Yes, there is a thumb safety.

The overall length with a fully extended stock is 26” and 23.375” in the collapsed position. The weight is right around 3.25 lbs depending on the model and barrel combination.

Precision machined 16” Chromoly full drop-in barrel replacement with a black nitride finish. Polygonal rifling.

The threading on the 16” drop-in barrel is a proprietary thread and won’t accept aftermarket products including a suppressor. The added weight of a suppressor or potentially a different compensator will negatively affect the accuracy of the platform.

Yes, the kit is compatible with custom slide cuts and aftermarket slides.

Yes, as long as your magazine has the LRBHO feature on the follower.

Yes, the ejection port is ambidextrous due to our shell deflector.

Our CCK trigger linkage mechanism will retain the trigger pull and break weights of the trigger you have installed as well as retain your trigger’s reset. The trigger pull distance may be increased by a few hundredths of an inch (especially on flat-faced triggers), however, your reset will remain the same. The only difference is that our trigger linkage mechanism is providing a flat trigger pull as it is guided straight back, removing any ”curve” you may be used to in other firearm triggers.

Yes, we will offer our brave women and men of the military, LE, and First Responders a discount. Please reach out to info@metatactical.com for more details.

I like the package as a great concept, however I have a problem with mine in 10mm. My Glock 20 works fine in the shell using .40 s&w. But the 10 mm ammo causes the mag to drop with every shot. It only happens when inside the conversion kit. I feel the extra power of the 10 mm rounds causes the pistol to rotate slightly in the conversion unit and may cause the mag release to rub against the inside of the kit. I’m a tinkering kind of a guy so I’m going to void my warranty and try to solve this mag drop issue. Any pointers will be well received. I really like the system. It’s fun with .40 cal. Even cheaper to shoot than 10 mm, but I really want to perfect it for 10 mm.

Overall happy with product though did buy a single stack mag holder to fit in-between the stock and compartment since I don’t have it fully collapsed. Have this as an attachable feature like the foregrip option might be popular. Would also have liked an option to have a bigger pistol grip to do the same as the foregrip and have a magazine in there as well. With it being light weight carrying extra mags on the rig would not be a be a huge increase in weight overall.

Fun and handy, especially for a 10mm, since having the longer barrel boosts that caliber’s already impressive ballistics between 120-130%. Only three real down-sides – firstly, the proprietary threading on the muzzle is annoying and disappointing; secondly, the trigger pin, which is kinda chinzy and can fall out too easily – admittedly they give you a spare, but the spare is equally flimsy and easily lost; and thirdly, it seems a little overpriced for what it actually is, i.e. a piece of molded plastic and a long barrel – I think they’d be a LOT more popular if the price-point was down around $350 – $400 range. Other than that, I’m happy with the unit and would buy another… assuming the price might come down a little in the future.
